Historic #NoMore Global Protest
Updated: Nov 20, 2021
This Sunday, November 21, Ethiopian and Eritrean diaspora communities around the world in partnership with the A.N.S.W.E.R Coalition and Black Alliance for Peace are protesting the Biden Administration’s foreign policy in the Horn of Africa. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has continued to support the TPLF, an armed rebel group that has been killing Ethiopians to overthrow the democratically elected Federal Government of Ethiopia. On November 4, 2020, the TPLF mobilized ethnic Tigrayans in the military to attack fellow non-Tigrayan Ethiopian soldiers in the dead of the night while they were sleeping. Since then, the international media has accused the Govt of Ethiopia’s response to the attack as being genocidal in nature, when in fact the Govt has carefully been trying to hold those treasonous TPLF attackers accountable, not the ethnic Tigrayan people.

A recent joint investigation by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission on the war in Tigray did not find any evidence of a genocide. It also did not find data to support allegations that the Government of Ethiopia denied civilians in Tigray humanitarian aid or used starvation as a weapon. In fact, in September, two UN whistleblowers including the UN IOM’s Chief of Mission to Ethiopia have accused rouge UN officials of working with the TPLF terrorist group to redirect humanitarian aid that was sent to Tigray, for war. Since July, TPLF militias have used UN humanitarian aid trucks to invade neighboring Amhara and Afar regions and killed thousands, including civilians who were indiscriminately killed and grossly raped according to a recent Amnesty report.
The Biden Administration will not acknowledge these tremendous issues and instead continues to treat the elected Govt of Ethiopia as equivalent to the TPLF insurgent group that is trying to overthrow the elected Govt. Recent op-eds have even suggested US military intervention will solve the Ethiopia conflict. We say No More to Biden’s Administration policy of supporting insurgency and sabotaging democracy in Ethiopia. No More to destructive US intervention based on lies.
About mass detentions of ethnic Tigrayans in Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa. There have been many reports of Ethnic Tigrayans, including those that attacked their fellow comrades last Nov, who are working with the TPLF insurgents against the people of Ethiopia and the elected Government of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The Govt of Ethiopia is only looking for those who are aiding the TPLF terrorist group. It just so happens that many they have mobilized are ethnic Tigrayans as they claim to be the Tigray People's liberation front.
TPLF was created in 1975 as an opposition group against the then communist govt with the goal of liberating Ethnic Tigrayans. Since TPLF came into power in 1991 and overthrew the communist govt with the backing of the West, they have abandoned the Tigray region which remains poor and instead hoarded the country’s wealth. The TPLF ruled more than 100 million people for 27 years with brute oppression, torture and killing of opposition. On the struggle of the Ethiopian people, TPLF was sidelined in 2018 and a year ago, the group started a war in hopes of forcing their way back into power against the will of the people.
